  • Online banking access: Make sure your online/mobile banking feature is enabled on your device or from your bank. If not, you must contact your bank and get it enabled.

Step-by-Step Guide to Connecting Your Bank Account

Step 1: Log in to your QuickBooks Online account

Go to quickbooks.intuit.com/uk/login/ and create a new account or log in to your existing account, if you already have one.

Step 2: Navigate Transactions > Bank Transactions

After logging in, go to ‘Bookkeeping’ tab from the left navigation bar and select ‘Transactions’. 

Step 3: Click Link account or Connect account

Next, select ‘Link Connect Account’ from the landing page. A pop-up will appear, where you need to search for your bank.  Enter the bank’s name or URL in the search bar. Select Let’s go when ready.

Step 4: Enter your login credentials securely

After aggreeing with the terms, log in to your bank account with usual log in credentials. Select ‘Continue’ after compelling. QuickBooks will now connect with your bank. Which will take a few minutes. 

Step 5: Select the account(s) you want to connect

Follow the steps on your bank’s internet banking page to authorise QuickBooks and connect to your bank account. Then, select the account(s) you want to connect. 

Step 6: Choose how far back you want to import transactions

Now, add the dates for the data you want to access. P.s. you can import up to two years of data per account. 

Step 7: Confirm and finish the setup

Select ‘Connect’ to finish setting up your account. WuickBooks will import the required information and your account(s) will appear in your QuickBooks Online account. 

Now you can view your bank details in QuickBooks where all your transactions will be listed below each account.

  • Go to the Review tab under your bank account to match income and expenses. 
  • Add notes or attachments or CSV files as an alternative.
  • Mark Recurring items for automation to save time. 

QuickBooks Online is so smart that you can set up custom banking rules by automatically categorising recurring transactions (e.g., Amazon, utility, withdrawal,  or deposits).
